Seasons greetings

So every Christmas Chris and I go through the "let's send out Christmas cards" "okay, but just do a picture because printing out the actual cards is too expensive" "well thats boring but okay." That is until this year my friends. For Chris' birthday last month i made him a photobook on Shutterfly that consisted of all of our favorite photos from our wedding and our engagement shoot. It turned out amazing and it was really NOT expensive.. so I looked to Shutterfly for this years Christmas cards. I haven't decided which one we will send out yet, but there are several cute ones. I'm thinking we will be using one that has multiple pictures because a lot has gone on this year! Here are a few of my favorite ones: (its not letting me upload the pictures.. no idea why.. so here are the links)

finally finished

so it took a little bit longer than the first quilt.. and also i lagged in taking pictures of it.. but i finally finished the little boy quilt that i was making.. i'm thinking now that i have more than one sample quilt i will start an etsy shop and see if by some chance anyone wants to buy my quilts so i have a reason to keep making them!
the baby's room has a stars and heaven theme.. so this is what i came up with .. hope she likes it!

packing packing packing

sigh.. so we unpacked what we needed here.. knowing that it was temporary.. but still unpacking what would make us comfortable. As time went on we unpacked more little knick-knacks and what nots.. and we now find ourselves in the process of moving again in the next few weeks.... i never want to leave it all for the day before.. but what wont i need for the next however many weeks we will be here??
that being said.. i've been working on a new quilt but havent gotten very far. we've had a very busy few weeks. i am happy to report however that when we get into our new house we will have an extra room beyond the guest room and chris has so nicely agreed to allow that to be the computer/workout/ sewing room! so i dont have to pack up my machine and everything every night when i'm done so its not on the table.. this will make projects so much more convenient and therefore faster!

I'm a sewing maniac!

So after i finished Monster's bed i decided to make a blanket for a friend who's about to have a baby girl. She hasn't had much luck finding black white and pink blankets for her little girl bc everyone is going neutral these days so she said if i needed a project she could use one! I'm excited about this one bc it only took me about 4 hours total .. not that its huge.. but big enough for a baby!
the whole thing.. its about 3'x4'
a close view of the patterns and the ties
just another shot.

on another note... curious if anyone has ever used etsy to but and or sell stuff.. i'm considering making things like that for people.. i cant just make my self and the fam 10 million quilts!

crafty crafts

i'm always looking for crafty things to do to occupy my "down time" .. aka.. when noah is napping.. i've been known to cross stitch, paint, sew, cook, and make decorative signs (not sure thats very descriptive of what i'm talking about and i only have one of those...) So anyway if anyone has any crafty ideas that they enjoy i'm all ears.. just this morning i finished making a dog bed for monsters crate complete with zipper for restuffing. The last part is only significant because as i was starting to make the bed i realized that i've never sewn a zipper before and i managed to do a pretty decent job on my first go round. I felt bad that he was just sleeping on the metal pan in his crate while watching nala sleep in one of the 2 fluffy beds next to the crate and the other being empty. However he doesn't know the rules well enough yet to stay off of the carpet and NOT chew noah's toys while we're asleep. so here's a few pictures of monsters new crate bed.

I really thought i would never do this!

Well.. hopefully this blog goes better than Noah's totsite... that lasted a few months and then i realized i was just posting all of the pictures and stuff on there that i was doing on facebook so there was really no point...
I'm thinking i'll use this to keep updating my crafty projects that i do when i have those few minutes to work on them.. perhaps type up good recipes as i come across them... follow the antics of the growing child and pups that keep me busy... whatever else comes up :)
